An afternoon at Argo on the Parade

Recently, I had the chance to visit Argo on the Parade while catching up with an old friend. Being only my second visit (and my friends first) there was a lot take in, with a host of options jumping off the menu at us. The menu ranges from eggs ‘as-you-like’ to a range of American style hotdogs, accompanied by a selection of smoothies, iced drinks, coffees and teas.

Menu aside, one of the first things I noticed was Argo’s popularity. It was only through sheer luck that my friend and I were able to snare a table (right near the door, but it’s best not to be picky in these situations). In fact while dining, I couldn’t help but notice behind my friend there was someone who wasn’t lucky enough to get a table had taken to putting her plate on the display counter and was taking bites of her dessert.

Obviously, that person could hardly wait to have their food and after tasting what Argo had on offer for lunch it’s not hard to see why. I opted to try the Sweet Chick wrap, toasted, which features chicken schnitzel, sweet chilli sauce, avocado, baby spinach and mayo. It was a good choice, the wrap and fillings were warmed all the way through and the chicken, sweet chilli and baby spinach flavours blended well together.*

Along with the wrap I ordered a favourite of mine, a chai latte. It was sweet without being overpowering or sickly and complemented the flavours in the wrap. I’ve tried chai lattes at a number of places, and this is one I would gladly recommend to friends.

All in all, Argo’s provided a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with friendly service (despite it being so busy) and great food in a relaxed setting that I would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a coffee or meal while out and about.

*Sidenote: My friend ordered an Americano hotdog with a side of fries, which looked great – and made me question my choice slightly – but I didn’t get the chance to snap a picture of it, so you’ll have to imagine how it looked.
