I recently revisited Burger Theory, one of Adelaide’s favourite burger bars. Are they still one of the best around town? Read on for more.

What is it?

One of Adelaide’s most well known burger bars, and one of the first food trucks to have a permanent home in the CBD.

With burgers, fries and milkshakes, Burger Theory has all your favourites on hand.

Extra points to Burger Theory for their bright and bold packaging – perfect for the flavour-filled food on offer.

A little more about the place…

Burger Theory has a burger of the month each and every month. These specialty burgers are worth the trip, often featuring a variety of flavours you do not usually find in a burger.

What did I try?

I opted to try the burger of the month, which for January is The Hallouminati. One of the signature ingredients is, unsurprisingly, halloumi, along with mint and watermelon. Yes, you saw that right – watermelon in a burger.

I was skeptical but the chance to try something new was too good to pass up, so went with the speciality burger. My risk-taking was rewarded with a delicious burger, with flavours that contrasted amazingly.

Each of the ingredients, along with the beef patty and brioche bun combined to create a slightly salty yet somehow refreshing and minty burger.

Where is it and when are they open?

I visited the Union Street Burger Theory, but they also have stores on The University of Adelaide and Flinders University main campuses. Check out their website for the full details of opening hours for each location.
