I took a trip into the Adelaide Hills and stumbled across an absolute gem offering chocolate treats – read on for more!

Red Cacao is a chocolatier located in the Adelaide Hills, offering a range of exquisitely made, delicious chocolates and other chocolate-based treats.

Tucked away among a group of stores in the Adelaide Hills town of Stirling, Red Cacao offers diners a range of Belgian chocolates and chocolate drinks.
Featuring table service, a nice touch that adds to the experience, Red Cacao has an extensive menu of drinks, hot and cold, and an impressive range of chocolates and cakes.
What did I try?
Making a selection from the Red Cacao menu was (unsurprisingly) a challenge – so many options! I ended up choosing a dark chocolate peppermint hot chocolate, as the weather was surprisingly cool for a summer’s day.
The drink was rich and creamy, with the peppermint flavour being strong but not overpowering. (In fact, the peppermint flavour made the drink surprisingly refreshing!)
A close second, and worth a mention here, is their Aztec Hot Chocolate, which includes chilli, cinnamon and spices. While it would have been nice on the breezy day, I couldn’t resist the peppermint option – and was not disappointed!
